18.1.2 Release – Line movement icons and pick save confirmation

Today we added a few new features to Sportspickr.  Check these out and look for more coming soon.

Save Pick Confirmation

When saving picks, you now get a confirmation.  If you prefer the old way and want to bypass this step, go to your preferences and turn off “Validate Pick Save” under Preferences->League Settings in the menu.

Scoreboard Line Movement Icons

In the scoreboard, premium users will now see the current line for games not yet started and a thumbs up or down to show you if the current line is better, the same, or worse than when you picked it.

In the example below, I picked Gasquet/Blaz under of 11.5 (-112).  The over under line is currently 11 so I have a favorable line relative to current offering so it’s green.

In the Ashleigh/Sabelenka match, I picked the under at 9.5 (-103).  I could of gotten 10.5 (-112) so I have a unfavorable line relative to what I picked so it’s red.

If you see a yellow/orange icon, the line hasn’t changed.  See Bucks/Wizards example below.

Additional Scoreboard Filtering

In the scoreboard dropdown for date range, you can now select”IN PROGRESS” and “FUTURE”  to filter games in action and games yet to start.

Share your Sportspickr scoreboard and standings

You can now share your current Sportspickr standings and scoreboard with anyone who wants to follow your team or league.

To enable sharing, league admins must turn on “Is public?” setting in league settings.

Once league is public, you will see a copy link icon below standings.  Click this and it will copy a url into your clipboard that you can share.

When your friends navigate to the copied URL they will see your league standings and scoreboard and be able to filter by team and date.  Note, they will not have access to any other league functionality like picks, preferences, etc.

Note: If admin stops sharing by turning off the “is public?” setting, the url shared will no longer work.

Mobile Apps

Sportspickr mobile apps are finally here!  The biggest reason to download the app is to get mobile notifications when your opponent makes a pick and your matches settle.  Go to Preferences->League Settings and make sure you have notifications turned on to receive these.

The app is almost identical to the website on your mobile browser.  The familiar design should make it easy to use and the mobile apps will get all new features as soon as web site does.

Note, to use mobile apps, you must be a registered user.

Responsive Layout

In case you haven’t seen this yet, Sportspickr uses a responsive layout.  What this means is that the app will show different things depending on the real estate it has to use.  For example, when looking at Standings on a phone you will see Wins, Losses and Ties in portrait mode.  When you turn your phone to landscape mode, though, you will see Points, too.  Scoreboard works the same way so you don’t always have to hit the down arrow to see all the data.
